Meandering Mondays VII

Happy Monday! Australia is a vast country mainly of deserts and rocks…

ULURU

Ask a Toddler - Uluru

This had to be portrayed in colour…for obvious reasons. It’s a sacred place to indigenous Australians but if you’ve ever been you’ll understand me when I say it is sacred no matter where you are from. Uluru is sacred for various reasons, it’s known as a burial ground; its awe inspiring presence in an otherwise flat arid land is breathtaking.

There is a small window to capture the colour and contrast that you see in this photo; about 2-3 minutes before and after the sun rises. You’ve just got to be there at the right time void of any distractions and interferences. It can be quite a rare occurrence.

Uluru’s majesty can get lost in its ubiquity but make no mistake, this place is sacred. Respect what it means to others and enjoy its beauty for what it is…a monolithic sandstone rock formation, the worlds largest, and a place to visit to explore your own spirituality.
