Value

Ask a Toddler - Expire

There are things that might seem trivial to some but to others these same things are valuable. That value can only be measured by one thing: time.

Value is often attributed a monetary amount but what I don’t think people appreciate very often is that money is hard-earned, whether it be on the assembly line or behind a desk, or even in a cafe on a laptop…whichever, in any event it’s hard-earned because to earn we must spend time.

Money is actually just one of many attributes of value all of which in turn are an allocation of time. Value is basically our effort and sweat of the brow converted to a medium of exchange. And so when we value something we are inevitably allocating part of the finite time we have to whatever that valuable thing or experience might be.

So when you hear people say time is money, what they’re saying is time is valuable. But in fact value is time, our finite time in space before we expire.
