Communications

Ask a Toddler - Written Word

The written word is powerful. It can also be boring and disengaging.

We communicate in many different ways but by far the most ubiquitous is by written word. That isn’t to say it’s always effective though. It may be factual, it may convey a message but it mightn’t be a good piece of written communication.

I’m no copyrighter or editor [as you’ve probably gathered] but I do enjoy reading natural, beautifully crafted passages about anything. The content makes no difference. The structure helps. The tone sets the mood, the language used is important, but it’s in the delivery that makes the words leap off the page.

I’m not well versed enough to put it any other way but to say there is a real skill in written communication that all of us who want to communicate well with words should aspire to have.
