Glass half full

Ask a Toddler - Glass Half Full

Its amazing how powerful a positive outlook can be. Regardless of what our current situation might be, if we keep our head up and look just beyond the horizon things are likely to get better. It all starts in our heads.

In the past I’ve considered myself a bit of a pessimist. I haven’t always been able to look beyond the current unfortunate situation and appreciate the bigger picture. It resulted in a self-destructive spiral that culminated in an sense of claustrophobia…not knowing what to do and how to get out.

But I soon realised that I wasn’t a pessimist at all. I was [and still am] a sceptic. There’s a big difference. I like to question, I don’t like to accept things on face value…but instead of letting my scepticism get me down, I’ve learned to let it actually have the opposite effect on me.

I feel empowered now that I ask the questions that are rarely asked. It helps me gain an insight that others lack. Ultimately its just another way of staying positive and knowing full well that the glass is half full.
