Admissions

Ask a Toddler - Switch

It’s a tough gig admitting we’re wrong or admitting we need to change. Like getting admitted into hospital, its quite a process.

Firstly there’s a level of self awareness we need to have which is the actual acceptance and realisation for the need to change and then actually wanting to change. The ‘want’ largely stems from realising that what we do impacts on others directly and impacts how others view us. If how these ‘impacts’ aren’t in line with our own self perception this may be a trigger for change.

We then need to come to terms with exactly what it is that we want to change. At this point there already has been a major awakening, a significant step in the right direction. The hardest part is over.

We can now begin to mobilise the tools and resources we’re going to need to help us make the changes we want to see in ourselves. These tools may need to be borrowed or acquired but they’re there if we need them.

And so even though there’s probably a lot more to be said about admissions, we must realise that there is a process involved and it won’t be as easy as flicking a switch. Admissions can be a rewarding journey worth embarking on.
