Sailing off

Ask a Toddler - Sailing Off

We all need a holiday every now and then. They help us unwind, reset, clear our heads and start afresh.

Holidays aren’t always those that involve traveling away from home. It’d be great if we could drop everything and just leave town for some time but that isn’t always practical. Sometimes taking a holiday and staying home is the best thing for us.

I thoroughly enjoy holidaying in my own city, exploring areas I never make the time to visit. Spending time in a familiar territory allows us to really unwind…so long as we focus on holidaying and not get sucked back into the mundane and regular.

Keeping holidays local also gives us an opportunity to change. We can change our attitude to getting by…maybe even change the layout of a familiar room, perhaps even spending some time to redefine our relationships with family, friends and loved ones.

So instead of sailing off, consider staying home for your next holiday and let the familiar surroundings let you make a change or truly relax and clear your head.

I love to holiday in my own city/home. What about you? Stay home or sail off?
