You may have heard the saying:
Don’t count your chickens before your eggs hatch
The basic premise is self explanatory. We have so many chickens and yet we still insist on counting our eggs. Instead of hoping for more, we should focus our energies on maintaining and appreciating the amazing things that already exist in our lives.
Quit aspiring to reach fabricated, meaningless milestones and obsess over the real things that matter: our existence in time, an acknowledgement of our own existence in space, our relationships to each other and how our interactions contribute to all of the above.
By nurturing our existing chickens our eggs will hatch. Bother not to count what might be but enjoy what is there aready.
