Pedal pushing

Ask a Toddler - Pedal Pushing

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before on Ask a Toddler but I love bikes. I love to ride them. I love to look at them. I love to tinker with them [i.e. take them apart and try to put them back together again].

For centuries now cycling has been the carriage of billions of people. It has signified [and still does] a coming of age, a founding of freedom to children and adults alike; everywhere. The realisation that you can travel vast distances for free in a relatively short space of time is truly spectacular.

I was a late starter to this vehicle of adventure we know as a bicycle which might be part of the reason why I love them so much. I missed out on all the bike education programs at school because I didn’t know how to ride a bike! Ever since I did learn though, I don’t think there has been a week that has gone by where I haven’t ridden my bike at least 3 or 4 times.

Like with most of my other passions of lawyering, photographing, and imagining, I try to combine them, mainly because there are only 24 hours in a day and I just want to squeeze as much as I can in! So I started taking photos of bikes, of people riding bikes, of bicycle festivals and I even made a stop motion short film about bikes falling in love! That’s right, I’m slightly obsessed about bikes. They are simply extraordinarily magnificent machines.

My fuel is my food. My carriage are my wheels. Pushing pedals is my passion. What’s yours?
