The pursuit for truth is noble but an untainted truth is almost non-existent. Our pursuit for the real truth is often an exercise in futility.
What you find, if you look really hard is usually a twisted version of the truth…if you don’t look hard you’ll only find a whole lot of bullshit. I suppose the only real way to get a truthful account is to witness it for yourself. Obviously in most cases that’s impossible, so we have to rely on someone else’s account.
If we trust that someone else, we’re OK…we’ll get a version of the truth that we would probably recount ourselves, if and when we had to. But again, that’s almost impossible. How can you trust someone who isn’t at all interested in recounting the truth for your sake without an ulterior motive?
You can’t and that’s why even a twisted version of the truth is hard to come by.
